Taking a step inside the marble-floored halls of Lucerne Academy, the first thoughts to enter most homo sapien's heads would be, "This is actually a school?" The entrance lobby is furnished with only the best brands, and the young receptionist behind the front counter is even dressed like she belongs in this fancy building. If you'll follow me down through the lobby to the first hall, you'll see some more of the typical school features. The shimmering pale yellow paint across the wide lockers seems to reflect the white floors, and oak doors are closed, classes hidden behind them. Instead of a cafeteria, various catering places from around the city supply the lunches. There are no bells to signal different periods, only about twelve seconds of Mozart. For those students who don't live in beautiful Malibu, clusters of dorm building are strategically placed on the campus, the lawns constantly maintained.
But as special as this school seems, it takes a certain type of student to be accepted. If your parents are wealthy enough to fork over the heavy tuition, you'll be accepted rather quickly. However, if you manage to get a scholarship from across the country, you'll be allowed to come as soon as space opens up. Only about one-ninth of the students enrolled are even scholarship students. Why would anybody want to be in Lucerne Academy, though? Why should you have to pay or work for this school?
Lucerne Academy is an arts school. Can you smear magic across canvas? Does your acting excel even those in movies? Is your singing as good as Broadway? This school was designed for you, however, while we are artistic, grades are also considered. Missing classes and failing will get you sent straight to the dreaded public school.
While the students are wealthy and intelligent, however, typical high school activities persevere. The semester plays are often subject to sabotage, along with the sports games of the only four sports offered here - basketball, cheer leading, football, and soccer. The typical cliques of the school shift out through the day, and the usual drama of school is normally expanded by the dramatic way of most of students' backgrounds. Do you think you have what it takes to be Lucerne Academy gold?
